Hi crafty friends, followers and visitors.. cold and frosty start here today! suns out but still cold..
This is my first Snowglobe Christmas card..
Made myself a lot of work for nothing on this design!
I was going for a see through acetate globe.. BUT change my mind I prefer this winter scene on black ..would love your opinions!
This is the back of the globe ..so not much glitter in the acetate.
I cut two acetate circles with Spellbinders so I would have a circle to fit the snowglobe. front one has been embossed with dots and white pen.
Using the die cut Snowglobe in white on a fold to make a top opener card.
Next I cut two Winter scene`s Trees coloured with distress Marker "Shabby Shutters"
I cut a spellbinder circle in black, adhered these scene`s ( this is where it would have been see through) filled with glitter, then I placed in the two acetate circles ..I used foam tape to adhere together.
Outer Globe cut two..inked in green ink, cut a thin circle in black adhere as shown.
Merry Christmas cut in white and black to create a shadow when glued together.

ReplyDeleteOH WOW this is amazing and absolutely gorgeous! You are SO clever! LOVE it Pam ... thanks for all the amazing inspiration you've been sharing! I want to case them all! LOL! HUGS from OHIO!
ReplyDeleteYour scene certainly shows up better on a dark sky. No reason why it can't be nighttime in a snow globe. Brilliant idea to sandwich the scene with all its glitter between two acetate pieces. Also, I love how you shadowed and highlighted the sentiment. Totally gorgeous, Pam!
ReplyDeleteSo far I haven't been a big fan of snow globe stamps or dies, but I think I've just been converted. This is absolutely lovely, and I do really like the black background. The whole thing is just striking. x
ReplyDeleteYour snow globe card is stunning Pam. Such a lovely scent and the sentiment is perfect.

Gorgeous snowglobe card Pam..Loz
ReplyDeleteMy opinion? Sure doesn't look like a 'first'. It's beautiful. I was amazed when it scrolled up, missing your beautiful pastels. It looks so dramatic with great contrast - with the black background. I LOVE the winter scene, and the snow globe shape of the card is so pretty. I've never tried one of these (nor a shaker card)- or worked with acetate very much.Looks to me like you've done it all - expertly and shown off these marvelous dies! I like that fancy sentiment, and the creamy holly leaves too. Well done! TFS
ReplyDeleteI've never made a snow globe, but I sure admire this one--love it! The sentiment is great, too!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant snow globe card.....great dies....Joolsx
ReplyDeleteNearly missed this one which would have been a shame as it's gorgeous! Angela xXx
