Good morning everyone, had a day making a card yesterday! after house work..
Do not like making any men`s cards..seem to take forever and still do not like what I have made lol.
6"x^.1/2" card size. Grey & Black.
I have used Memory Box "Workshop Frame" cut in silver mirri card & grey card, used a black pro marker on tools I thought had handles, My late Dad would have loved this! he always was fixing things, really miss getting on the phone for help.
Ever had a stamp! think you know where it is!!! I wanted to use this Happy Fathers day and Mr Fix It old stamps in my stash, took a couple of hours to find them.. not the place I thought I had put them..what a day.
I have infilled with the grey card.
Topper layered onto black.
How I coloured in an embossing folder..
I have used cream card so you can see it in the folder.
Using a brayer and Tim Holtz "New Oxide ink" Iced Spruce.. ink your roller, by running over the ink pad..I inked debossed side of the folder ..If you feel the pattern in your folder you want the DEBOSSED side! you finger will go into the pattern (hope you understand).. put your card piece in the folder, run through your die cutting machine. so you`ll have Cream raised pattern and a coloured background..
Finished with a couple brads and charm.
Items used..
Memory Box.. Workshop frame. here
Distress ink..Iced Spruce. phone 01634 686823
Amy Design.. "It`s A Man`s World" embossing folder.
Stamps from Stash..
brads & charm

Hi Pam, This is a fabulous Father's Day card, I love your inking of the embossing folder, the effect is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on making male cards, I much prefer doing girlie cards haha.
Enjoy your day.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Love this card Pam
ReplyDeleteHaven't used my oxides yet

Fabulous card Pam, I love the frame and thank you for explaining the method of using inks with the embossing folder. I hate doing male cards it is so hard to think of themes, female cards are much better

Hi Pam, you say it's not your "thing" men's cards but this one looks great to me. Love how you've worked with the background in combination with the die. Great design and explanation.

Stunning fathers day card Pam. I like the arrangement of tools in the center and the beautiful embossingfolder.

Hi Pam this is a stunning Father's Day card I love all the elements you have used to make something so special. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful Father's Day card, or for any guy. The colors are tool colors and the die cuts are so real looking. I love that embossing folder and how you colored it. Guy cards are hard, no bling, no ribbon, no sequins, no flowers - what a bummer they are!
ReplyDeleteI think this is a brilliant male card Pam, I love those colours you have used. The idea of brayering ink on to a embossing folder is great to use...thank you for showing us....luv Ursula xx
ReplyDeleteA brilliant card Pam..love all the tools and the brayering on the embossing folder has made a fantastic background..

It's a great card but I do understand about making the 'man card', it's is difficult.

Such a wonderful masculine card--a card that is so hard to do and needs all the mojo one can muster just to complete one.
ReplyDeleteWonderful card ad I love all those little tools!

This is really cute. I love the frame. I have looked at it online several times, but this is the first I have seen it used. Great job.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic card for "Mr Fix It". However you could easily change the colors and it would be perfect for "Ms. Fix It". Just love the embossing folder as well. You have tied everything together perfectly.
ReplyDeleteSuper masculine card, Pam. Great design and I love all the detail. xx
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, the dreaded guy card! I really like the frame and the sentiments and the embossed panel. I could definitely use those elements for my hubby, but how many times? He's always tinkering around the house. I've tried that brayering of the embossing folder several times, exactly the way you explained it, and mine never turns out this good. You have such good ink coverage and I never get that. I've tried different inks, too. Can you feel my pain? Fabulous card, Pam!
ReplyDeleteRecently saw this frame in my online store, it's good to see it used and your results are fabulous. Love the inking of the Embossing folder, great result.
ReplyDeletexx Have a lovely weekend..

Oh this is handsome. (and yes indeedy, I'm always hunting for a stamp - or tool - that I know is somewhere!) Love the look of this one, the tools going round the double frame look really nifty. I hope the Dad who is lucky enough to get this special card, is a handy man! You did a great job creating with these dies! TFS (and thanks for the embossing tip...aren't these oxide inks lovely to work with?!) Hugs
ReplyDeleteVery classy masculine card. Loving all your attention to detail and great sentiment. Thank you too for the explanation about the inking of an embossing folder, which looks great x
ReplyDeleteSuper card Pam - love the tools! Perfect for the male cards. Shabneez xxx
